RAV VAST Drums

RAV Vast is a melodic metal musical instrument with a beautiful, colorful, and deeply meditative sound. It was developed in 2013 by Andrey Remyannikov as an instrument inspired by the handpan, but with its own unique construction and distinctive sonic character. Its notes are clear, sustain for a long time, and create a rich harmonic space that is beautifully suited for peaceful playing, improvisation, and relaxation.

Unlike the handpan, the RAV Vast features tongue-like cuts along its perimeter and metal ribs inside, which help create its signature long meditative resonance. The sound is round, soft, and very pleasant to listen to. Playing the RAV Vast can easily become a moment of slowing down, focusing, and immersing oneself in the tones.

The RAV Vast has a central bass note in the middle and eight melodic notes around the perimeter. It is played with the hands – using fingers, fingertips, or palms, depending on the tone color and dynamics you wish to create. Thanks to a special patented technology, overtones (harmonics) can also be activated on individual notes, which expands the musical possibilities of the instrument and adds further depth to its sound.

The instrument is perfect for meditative playing, relaxation, creative improvisation, music education, music therapy, and concert performances. It is also well-suited for schools, social care facilities, studio recordings, or home playing.
