You don't need your own handpan – the price of each individual or group lesson includes free handpan rental.

What to expect:

Complete introduction to the handpan – you’ll get a brief overview of its history, sound principles, and why playing handpan is easier than traditional instruments.
Step-by-step playing technique – you’ll learn how to strike individual tones and try your first hits and basic exercises.
Your first melody and song – we’ll play your very first handpan composition together.
Improvisation and intuition – you’ll discover that you can easily improvise and create your own melodies.
Playing together in a group – to finish, we’ll create a magical moment by forming a unique handpan orchestra together.
A musical surprise awaits you at the end
Try different tunings – after the workshop, you’ll be able to visit our showroom, try out various handpan tunings, and even purchase one if you like.

In addition to beginner workshops, we also offer follow-up lessons suitable for those who have already taken at least a basic individual or group lesson. We’ll start with a quick warm-up and refresh key techniques from previous lessons – so even if some time has passed, no worries, we’ll recap everything :) Then we’ll dive into new compositions, improvisations, and small musical challenges. We’ll finish with a group performance – and a small musical surprise won’t be missing.

No need to bring your own instrument – all handpans are provided at the workshop.

About the Instructor – Pavel Sedláček

Pavel Sedláček, despite his youth, is considered one of the most remarkable handpan players in the world. He has performed in Europe, the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, China, Taiwan, and Japan, appeared on Czech Television, and is the author of countless handpan music videos on his YouTube channel. He has also collaborated with world-famous players such as David Kuckhermann, Nadayana, and Sam Maher. Hundreds of people from both the Czech Republic and abroad have taken his lessons and workshops. He has also taught handpan in Australia, Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan, and the USA.

He is also the author of the first and only online handpan course in the Czech Republic and Slovakia – Handpan Akademie – which already has nearly 150 members.

Under the guidance of Pavel Sedláček, you can learn the absolute basics or improve your handpan playing at any level through individual lessons or group workshops.
You will learn the principles of tone and sound production on the handpan, technical exercises of various difficulty levels, a variety of rhythmic structures and their development, composition, and possibilities for creative musical improvisation on this instrument.

FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions

1. Where do the lessons take place?
Lessons are held in our showroom Léčivé Nástroje – V Aleji 42, Jablonec nad Nisou (1 hour from Prague)
Parking is available directly on the street by the showroom, and there is also a nearby public transport stop.

2. Do I need my own handpan?
You don’t need your own handpan. The rental of a handpan is included in the price of both individual and group lessons.
However, if you already own a handpan, you’re welcome to bring it with you.

3. I’ve never played any instrument and I think I have no musical ear. Is that a problem?
Not at all. Many people who come for the first time have no previous musical experience.
The handpan is a very intuitive instrument and it’s not played using sheet music – so even during your very first lesson, you’ll be able to play beautiful melodies and improvisations.
Most workshop participants are always surprised by how quickly they learn.

4. What should I bring?
Just wear comfortable clothes you feel good in.
We’ll be playing while seated, so no special equipment is needed. A handpan will be provided. If you like, you can bring a notebook for taking notes.
At group lessons, light refreshments are available – water, coffee, and tea. You’re also welcome to bring a small snack.

5. Are lessons suitable for children?
Yes, definitely. We recommend the age of about 12 and up – or younger children by personal arrangement.
We can also organize a private group session for families, where everyone can play at their own pace.

6. Can I give a lesson as a gift?
Yes, we offer beautiful gift vouchers for individual and group lessons.
You can pick them up in person or receive them by email in PDF format.
It’s an original gift for anyone who loves music or is looking for a new experience.

7. What if I need to reschedule or cancel?
Just let us know more than 3 days in advance and we’ll arrange a new date or cancel the lesson.
If cancelled less than 3 days in advance, a 100% cancellation fee applies.

8. I want to continue after the first lesson. What’s next?
You can sign up for a follow-up group workshop – Level 2, held several times a year, individual lessons, or join the online course Handpan Akademie.
