ABOUT THE MONITORS
The Quested S7R two-way active monitors are, according to our experience and comparisons, among the best sounding nearfield monitors available. They excel with a full, transparent, detailed sound across the entire frequency spectrum, perfect stereo imaging, and depth. They are ideal for recording, mixing, mastering, post-production, and mobile recording. Their incredibly detailed and natural sound allows for very precise and inspiring work, and most importantly, the results translate exceptionally well to standard listening systems. In other words, if it sounds good on these monitors, it will sound good everywhere.
The sound of these monitors does not have an aggressive high-end boost (like many "modern" monitors), which allows for not only full perception of this spectrum but also long hours of work without ear and mind fatigue.
These monitors are ideal for working in any genre—from acoustic music to hip-hop. In all cases, they provide comprehensive sound information down to the smallest details, and you can always rely on them.
The S7R model features a 6.5” low-frequency woofer, complemented by a pair of bass reflex ports on the front panel of the enclosure. This design reduces bass “turbulence” and simultaneously allows the monitors to be placed close to walls. The built-in amplifier operates at 190W RMS—120 watts RMS driving the woofer, and 70 watts RMS driving the high-frequency tweeter. The rear panel of the monitor allows for adjustments such as reducing the input sensitivity or setting high or low-frequency compensation. The operating frequency range is 68 Hz to 20 kHz (with a tolerance of +/- 2 dB and a roll-off at -6 dB at 58 Hz). In combination with the SB10R subwoofer, the frequency response can be extended down to 25 Hz—the lowest usable acoustic frequencies. Their frequency range is thus perfectly sufficient for most applications, including their use as main studio monitors.
All monitors in the S series are perfectly phase coherent and easily integrated into multi-channel setups (5.1, 7.1, etc.) with excellent results.
