ABOUT THE MICROPHONE
The highly compact large-diaphragm microphone Milab DC-196 features three selectable polar patterns (cardioid, omni, bidirectional), characterized by a very low self-noise level and excellent handling of high acoustic pressure levels.
This versatile microphone is equipped with the latest version of the rectangular capsule Milab 2900 and is one of the smallest large-diaphragm microphones available. It excels particularly on sources rich in transients, such as acoustic instruments. It is also great in situations where off-axis response is crucial, such as capturing string orchestras or vocal choirs. It is suitable for X/Y and Blumlein techniques, where large-diaphragm microphones are usually not used.
