How to choose a monochord

The body monochord LENA 70 cm is suitable for work with children, smaller clients, for easy portability, or for smaller spaces. It is more compact than the 100 cm version and is easy to handle when working with a client.

If you work predominantly with adult clients and want a larger resonance surface, choose the body monochord LENA 100 cm. If you want melodic possibilities in addition to a resonant sound, the meditation monochord LENA may be more suitable. For concert use and broader musical possibilities, the concert kotamo is more intended.

Why choose the body monochord LENA 70 cm

This smaller body monochord is practical, easily portable, and suitable for delicate sound and vibration work. Thanks to its length of 70 cm, it is easy to use with children, smaller clients, or in smaller rooms.

It is handcrafted under the LENA brand and equipped with a fine-tuning system for easy and precise tuning.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is the 70 cm version suitable for?

It is suitable for children, smaller clients, smaller spaces, and situations where easy portability is important. For adult clients of average height, the larger 100 cm version, which has a larger resonance surface, may be more appropriate.

What is a body monochord?

A body monochord is a monochord with a specially shaped bottom part for placement on the client's body. The vibrations of the strings are transmitted directly into the body, allowing the client to perceive them physically as well as through hearing.

Can the 70 cm body monochord also be used independently in a room?

Yes. Although it is primarily intended for placement on the body, you can also sound it independently in a room, for example during meditation, relaxation, or gentle sound work.

Can I try the monochord in person?

Yes. In our showroom in Jablonec nad Nisou, you can listen to and try out the monochord. The instrument is often custom-made, so we recommend contacting us in advance.
