Aquarius Bells

Water bowls (Aquarian bells) are unusual metallic instruments that connect a deep resonant sound with the movement of water. In shape, they resemble a larger metal bowl with two arched handles on the sides. Water is poured into the bowl, and the instrument is sounded by rubbing wet palms against both handles.

As the metal begins to open up into tone, the water inside begins to resonate along with it. Regular waves and patterns appear on the surface, and with stronger resonance, water droplets can bounce several centimeters above the surface. The water bowl is thus beautiful not only to listen to, but also to observe.

The sound is deep, full, and rich in overtones. It gradually grows, unfolds, and fills the space with a long resonance. Water bowls are suitable for meditation, relaxation, sound therapy, music therapy, concert use, and as an impressive tool for perceiving the relationship between tone, vibration, and water.

The history of these bowls is connected with Tibet and China, especially with the period of the Ming dynasty. According to tradition, they were made from seven metals, which symbolically corresponded to the seven planets. To this day, they remain one of the most interesting metal instruments in which the sound can be directly seen in the movement of water.
