How it sounds and how it is played
You play the tines with your thumbs or fingers, however you happen to feel like it. Their vibration travels into the membrane, which amplifies the sound and lets it fade away slowly and gently.
When you place the Sansula in your lap and lift it slightly, the tone begins to undulate, as if taking a breath. You can thus play with the sound not only with your fingers, but also by moving the entire instrument.
The synthetic REMO membrane is sturdy and reliable. It does not mind humidity changes and easily withstands the more energetic playing of children's hands.
