How to play the handpan
You awaken the handpan to life with gentle finger touches on its metal surface. The heart of the instrument is the central tone, ding, located in the middle, which you sound with your thumb. The surrounding notes along the perimeter then come alive under your index or middle finger, depending on what suits you. You determine the depth and tone color yourself by the sensitivity and strength of your touch, thanks to which everyone discovers their unique expression.
You can easily reach the bottom notes. Just keep the handpan resting on your knees slightly tilted and reach with your fingers under its edge. Playing on both sides at the same time takes a little practice at first, but that is precisely where the magic of this instrument opens up.

They expand the tonal range of the instrument. They add deep basses and higher notes and complement the scale with additional notes so you can play richer melodies and polyphonic motifs.
