Cactus rainstick with yarn | 100 cm

Cactus rainstick with yarn is a traditional natural musical instrument made from the dried body of a cactus, hand-decorated with colorful yarn. When slowly tilted, small particles and seeds pour inside the stick over a finely structured internal construction - creating a vivid, pleasant sound similar to rain and flowing water.

The surface of the stick is wrapped along its entire length with colorful yarn in various combinations. The stick thus serves not only as a musical instrument, but also as a decorative element for your space. Each stick is an original, so the colors and the wrapping pattern may vary from instrument to instrument.

Sound and Use

You just hold the rainstick in your hands and slowly tilt it. You create the sound yourself, according to your own movement - you can let it flow slowly and gently, faster and more pronouncedly, stop it, return it or use the stick as a gentle rhythmic rattle.

It is suitable for music therapy, sound therapy, meditation, relaxation, yoga classes, working with children and for the joy of sound at home. It also combines well with tibetan singing bowls, gongs, shamanic drum, handpan or other meditation instruments.

Material and Design

The stick is made from the dried body of a cactus. Cactus belongs to the traditional natural materials for making rainsticks, especially in regions of South America. After drying, a strong hollow tube is created with its own internal structure, over which the filling slowly pours when tilted.

The colorful yarn forms a distinctive handmade decoration along the entire length of the stick. Small differences between individual instruments are part of the natural character of handmade work.
