INTERESTING FACTS
The jew's harp, very simple in body construction, was particularly popular among wandering musicians and folk artists. It consists mainly of a metal body with a flexible reed in the center which, when placed in the mouth, properly gripped with the lips and plucked with a finger, produces a characteristic buzzing sound. This instrument can be found in various cultures under different names - in English-speaking countries it is known as the "jew's harp" or "mouth harp", while in German-speaking regions it is called "Maultrommel". Experienced players can create impressive melodies and rhythms by changing the shape of their oral cavity and varying plucking intensity, which makes this seemingly simple instrument an interesting musical tool with unique character.
