Four Landscapes, Four Harmonies
Koshi Mountain
The majesty of mountain peaks, expansive views, clean air and deep peace. The atmosphere of open space, silence and timeless beauty of the mountains.
Koshi Forest
The silence of the deep forest, the scent of trees, gentle light filtering through the canopy and the calm of nature. The atmosphere of mystery, intimacy and undisturbed repose.
Koshi River
Flowing water, its constant movement, variability and lightness. The atmosphere of freshness, vitality and natural flow.
Koshi Ocean
The endless horizon, the movement of sea waves and the vastness of the open ocean. The atmosphere of freedom, depth and peace that intertwines with the constant movement of water.
Beauty of Sound, Natural Materials and Handcrafting
Koshi Chimes have been created since 1986 in a workshop at the foothills of the French Pyrenees. Each one goes through careful manual tuning, during which individual tones are adjusted so that they create beautiful, harmoniously blended accords together.
The new Symphony of the Earth collection brings a new construction with twelve hand-tuned metal rods. Some tones are doubled, which contributes to their richer resonance and long decay.
While the original Koshi collection with four elements has eight rods and a bamboo resonance body, the Symphony of the Earth chimes use four different types of European wood:
-
Mountain - walnut wood
-
Forest - oak wood
-
River - cherry wood
-
Ocean - maple wood
Each wood species has its characteristic grain and natural coloration. Together with elegant craftsmanship, this creates musical instruments whose beauty stands out not only in sound, but also in the natural grain and coloration of the wood.
How to Sound the Chimes and Where to Use Them
Koshi Chimes are sounded very easily. It is enough to grasp them by the hanging cord and gently sway or twist with your wrist. With a slow movement you can let individual tones sound with long decays, with a livelier movement play a richer, continuously flowing melody. You can also hang them and set them into motion with gentle touches.
You can use the chimes in many ways:
-
For relaxation and meditation - their gentle melodies create a pleasant atmosphere for moments of peace, rest and quiet listening.
-
During yoga and other calm exercises - they fit beautifully, for example, for initial calming or final relaxation.
-
During musical and sound meditations -
