Fujara

Overtone flute is a large Slovak overtone flute with a deep, drawn-out and very distinctive tone. It looks majestic already by its appearance and its sound has a special space - it is deep, soft, slow and naturally meditative.

Similar to the koncovka, it works by overblowing into natural harmonic tones. Thanks to its length and construction, however, it sounds more powerful, fuller and more festive. A typical fujara has only a few finger holes, yet it offers a rich tonal world in which breath, feeling and listening to the reverberation play a major role.

Fujara is strongly connected with Slovak shepherd tradition and its music is inscribed on the list of UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage. It is not an instrument for fast effects, but for slow resonance, long melodies and a deep tone that carries through the space.

It is beautifully suited for meditation, relaxation, solo playing, discovering traditional instruments and moments when you want to let the sound of breath and wood itself stand out.

In our offer you will find fujaras in various sizes and tunings.
