The Double Flute A is a unique instrument with a dual chamber that produces a rich, spatial, and harmonious sound. Composed of two flutes connected side by side, it allows you to play melodies and harmonies simultaneously – as if two instruments were sounding at once.

You can play a melody on one flute and hold a drone tone on the other, play the same melody on both flutes at once, or play different melodies on each of them (creating a beautiful "dialogue").

Each side has four front holes and one thumb hole at the back, allowing you to play a full pentatonic scale with gentle and colorful tones shaped by your breath.

How to Play the Double Flute A

Playing the Double Flute is natural and intuitive. The instrument has two separate chambers – left and right, each with its own set of finger and thumb holes. Hold the flute lightly, use your little fingers for the bottom holes, and gradually lift your fingers upward for a smooth transition between tones.

Blowing gently into the small mouthpiece, the air splits between both flutes. With a calm, steady breath, a clear tone is produced, which can be developed into melodic and harmonic combinations. You can experiment with different breathing articulations to achieve various tone colors and intensities.
