Fujaras (Shepherd

Fujaras (Shepherd

In Slovakian folk tradition, fujara ("shepherd's pipe") is called the king of the wind instruments. A fujara is the largest of the family of the rectangular flutes. It is used in the similar way as an overtone flute, that is by changing the intensity of blow, but it has three tone holes, due to which it can play in the classic major scale. A well-made fujara can play more than two octaves.  Playing fujara already requires certain skills. However,  you can manage the basics of playing it, including first simple songs and improvisations in quite a short time.
