Double Flute C

Each side has four holes at the front and one thumb hole at the back, enabling you to play a pentatonic scale with exceptionally soft and colorful tones.

You can play a melody on one flute and hold a drone tone on the other, play the same melodies on both flutes simultaneously, or play different melodies on each (creating a beautiful “dialogue”).

How to Play the Double Flute C

Playing the Double Flute is natural and intuitive. The instrument has two separate chambers – left and right – each with its own set of finger and thumb holes. Hold the flute lightly in your hands, use your little fingers for the lower holes, and gradually lift your fingers upward for a smooth transition between tones.

When you blow gently into the small mouthpiece, the air divides between the two flutes. With a calm, steady breath, a clear tone emerges that can be developed into melodic and harmonic combinations. You can experiment with different breathing articulations to achieve various tone colors and intensities.
